Pacers might not match Portland's offer for Roy Hibbert
Indianapolis Star Pacers beat writer Mike Wells doesn't think the team will match Portland's offer to Roy Hibbert. He's reporting the Pacers have reached out to Chris Kaman as a potential replacement.
The Pacers are in a no-win situation, in my opinion. Match the offer, and they over pay. Let him walk, and you severely hurt the team and fan base.
They did agree with George Hill on a 5 year contract, but lets hope at a reasonable price. Guards that average 10 points and 3 assists per game are a dime a dozen in the NBA.
Whether Hibbert signs with Indiana or Portland, he's set for life (assuming Latrell Sprewell isn't his money manager). Hibbert's played the community and "franchise first" card since he got here, so it's disappointing to see him want to jump ship for a few $million$ more a year.
