Fresh off a four-year contract renewal, United States Men’s National Soccer Team head coach Bob Bradley named a 20-man roster Thursday for upcoming friendlies against Poland and Colombia, handing three players an opportunity to garner their first cap.
It’s done, then.
All positions, all the big names—and a few not-so-big ones—covered fully and exhaustively. Sure, there may be some omissions (apologies, Steven Lenhart), but for the most part, the future of U.S. Soccer lies somewhere in the text of the first three parts of this series.
So, why a fourth?
Two reasons: First, as we all know, there is a whole lot more to a team than the fielded players; Second, such a lengthy and prolix breakdown requires a bit of summarizing at the end.
Looking to the future, the U.S. striker pool appears to have some bright spots, but there is much to build on after a goalless 2010 World Cup.

With the U.S. 2010 World Cup run done and dusted after the first knockout round, most fans are taking a look back at the last four years—particularly the Cup’s four weeks—to determine where U.S. Soccer currently stands in relation to the past.
It doesn’t take the year-round soccer fan long for it to hit home. The World Cup is over. Alas we must wait another four years until Brazil 2014.
Current European champions Spain battle with the Netherlands to decide who will bask in the glory of the 2010 World Cup.
It has the makings of one of the best games of this World Cup, Spain will take on Germany for the right to take on the Netherlands in the World Cup final.
It has to be said that the biggest surprise of all is Uruguay. Their improbable run navigated them through a group which featured ’98 Champions France, perennial powerhouse Mexico, and the hosts, South Africa.
Can the USA keep the magic going against Ghana?
