One of the weakest divisions in the NBA, the Atlantic Division likely will be the same in 2010-11. Only the Boston Celtics made the playoffs a season ago, and while they are one of the NBA’s elite teams, the rest of the division has been brutal.
Since dismantling a talented team that turned thug after the infamous night in Detroit, the Indiana Pacers have been stuck in a vicious cycle the past five years. Larry Bird’s team performs consistently awful the first sixty games of the season, then decide to put together a meaningless run the last part of the season (while other bad teams tank), turning a potential top five pick into a mid-first round selection.
D-day is drawing near for NBA fans across the country. In a few short days, we likely will know the new home for Lebron James.
